Parents and Friends Association
At Whangaparaoa School, we have a very active PFA.
We are a group of mums, dads, caregivers – just like you – who are passionate about the school and passionate about providing students with the best opportunities and resources available. The school funds simply can’t cover everything, which is where we come in and offer our help by organising fundraisers and being proactive members of the school community.
We aim to have a primary fundraising activity each term, but usually there are two or three initiatives on the go at any one time! Like any volunteer group we are always looking for new faces to join our team, bringing new ideas, and playing an active part in helping our school be the best it can be. Our fundraising projects and events are a lot of fun to get involved with and are great opportunities to meet new people.
We only put in as much work as we are personally comfortable with, as we all lead busy lives and have varying amounts of time and energy available. There is never any pressure to take on anything that doesn't suit our own individual areas of choice.
Everyone is welcome to attend our meetings as and when they can make it. It doesn’t mean you have joined a committee or have signed up to help at something – unless you want to of course! We are a friendly bunch and love meeting different members of our school community, so please do come along, introduce yourself and find out a little more about what we do!
