LearningAssistants
Learning Assistants are a unique and important part of our school. The Learning Assistant initiative offers curriculum learning support for the students. Shared between two classrooms to allow for cross grouping opportunities, our assistants work one-on-one or with targeted small groups of students to accelerate learning. Our Learning Assistants offer an extra pair of hands and eyes in the classroom to better support our students. Our teachers are still the highly trained professionals, so planning, teaching, reporting and parent interaction are the domain of the classroom teacher.
Our teachers love having the support of these wonderful assistants in the classroom and the feeling is mutual, with several of our Learning Assistants going on to train as full time teachers.
