At Whangaparaoa School, we have a very active PFA who have raised funds for many projects which the school and children have benefited from.  We attempt to have some sort of fundraiser each term, aiming for a wide variety to appeal to all interests.  These projects and events are a lot of fun to organize and are a great opportunity to meet new people.

Like any volunteer group we are always looking for new faces to join our team, bringing new ideas.  We all only put in as much work as we are comfortable with, some have more time and energy to spare than others.  There is never any pressure to take on anything that doesn't suit our own individual areas of choice.

Everyone is welcome to attend our meetings.  Please come along and introduce yourself or contact Lee on 424 3855.

Lee Tempest

Hi, I am Lee Tempest, chairperson of the PFA.  I have 2 children, Declan who is in yr 3 and Katie who will start school in June.  We emigrated from the UK just over 2 years ago.  I joined the school pfa as a way of integrating into our community and making friends.  I have had alot of fun along the way and met some great people.

My name is Dianne Farrow and I have two children at the school, David in year 5 and Lilian in year 3.  I was treasurer of the Whangaparaoa Kindergarten for a year and when my last child started school I agreed to take on the treasurer role for the PFA.  This is my second year as treasurer and I have enjoyed meeting and getting to know some very talented and wonderful parents on the committee who are all there to support our children's school.

Jana Seibt Hi, my name is Jana Seibt.  I am a mother of two, Kyle in year 2 and Sean who started school in May.  I am German, but my partner and kids are Kiwis. I emigrated to NZ in 2005.  I am very passionate about my children's learning and joined the PFA to help our school to provide the best possible learning environment.  Earlier this year, I have taken on the role as Website Coordinator for the PFA .  I not only enjoyed being able to bring in my skills, but also to rise to new challenges, to gain experience and to meet and befriend a great bunch of parents.
