Dear Parents and Students,

OUR WORLD OF PERFORMING ARTISTS
Yesterday, we were treated to the many talents our students have in the world of performing arts. Whether it was art, drama, dance, music, puppetry, taiaha, poi, face painting, Whanga Jam, Circus performance, origami, stopmotion, busking, flashmob or claymation, our students shone and enjoyed performing for others. We hope that those of you able to join us also had a great day. Huge thanks to the teachers and parents for your support to prepare the students in so many different ways. It was an exciting day. Thank you to the PFA ladies for providing our scrumptious Cafe treats.

Next Tuesday and Wednesday, our inquiry into the world of performing arts culminates with our Year 5 and 6 students production of The Greatest Show. They are busy practicing hard for their 2 matinee and 2 evening performances.

DISCO
Last Friday evening our children enjoyed the school disco. It was fantastic to see the marvellous hair arrangements and lots of great dancing. I thought the behaviour of our children was excellent. Thank you parents for your support and for picking the children up on time. A high five goes to Wunny Harman and her crew of helpers for organising a fun event for our children. Thanks also to our staff who turned up to support the event.

TRAVEL RAFFLE
We have worked hard to upgrade our school facilities and resources over the last 2 years. The school hall is our next project and we would love to have a community facility that hosts many more school and community events, and of course many great memories. As a small first step we would like to upgrade the foyer and toilet area, which definitely does need a makeover. Every cent of profit made through the travel raffle will go towards this project.

Have a great week everyone
Kevin

FAREWELL KHAN
It is with sadness we say thank you and goodbye to our teacher aide, Khan Harawira. Khan has been an absolute asset to our school and we are very sad to be losing him. One of his many strengths is his ability to build relationships with a wide range of adults and students. We will miss his energy in the playground and wish him well with his life in Hawaii with his wife Alisha.
