Dear Parents and Students,
THANKS It's volunteers week. Our staff would like to acknowledge and thank all
our school volunteers who give so much time, do so much to make things happen in our school - PFA, parent helpers,
book club, camp and trip helpers, coaches, walking school bus and working bees. We feel very lucky to have
your support.
We would also like to thank our parent community for supporting our school staff while they attended a paid union
meeting on Tuesday. It was very much appreciated.
INCREDIBLE WEEK Last week, Gemma Pratomo and myself were lucky enough to join twenty six students
and seven parents on the first Year 6 Grit Camp. We left school at 5.30am on Monday morning and arrived back
at 3pm on Friday. The aim of the week was to challenge our students using the outdoors as a resource. Our home
for the week was Aongatete Lodge in the Kaimai Ranges. Through orienteering, river walks, rock climbing, cooking
fires, bouldering, burma trail, point to point torch challenge, archery and abseiling down waterfalls our students
shone all the way and took up every challenge. Their team work, leadership and school values were awesome.
Well done to everyone, and a big high 5 to our camp parents who supported our students every step of the way.
(see photos in Student Successes section below).
CANTEEN SURVEY - View results here. Thank you for taking the time to complete the survey. The BOT will discuss these results and any changes in future meetings.
TRAVEL RAFFLE We have worked hard to upgrade our school facilities and resources over the last
2 years. The school hall is our next project and we would love to have a community facility that hosts many
more school and community events and of course, many great memories. As a small first step we would like to
upgrade the foyer and toilet area, which definitely does need a makeover. Every cent of profit made through
the travel raffle will go towards this project.
Have a great week everyone Kevin
YEAR 1 – 4 PERFORMANCE ARTS WORKSHOP DAY Excitement is reaching fever pitch as our Year 1-4

Click here to see the timetable for the Year 1-4 Performance Arts Workshop Day
Please refer to email confirmations of your child’s group for the day to know when you can see them performing.
There has been one amendment to the timetable. During the first break time, Musical Theatre will no longer be performing

during the break times.
See you there for what promises to be the highlight of the year for our junior classes!
Please support our PFA by sending in some baking to be sold at the PFA cafe throughout the day. Donations of baking
can be dropped to M1 on the morning of the 27th June. Thank you
