WAY TO GO!!!! WELL DONE TEAM EMIRATES NEW ZEALAND!!!!
MUFTI DAY THIS FRIDAY 30 JUNE
To celebrate our wonderful Team NZ this Friday 30 June we will be having a 'Proud to be a Kiwi' or 'Proud to be living in NZ' mufti day. Theme = sailing, anything NZ, if in doubt or you have nothing, come in black.
Once again we were treated to a whole range of student talent at
last weeks assembly. Well done to our ballet dancers, Irish dancers, hip hoppers and band,
The Rebels, who all shone as performers on our stage. Thanks and we look forward to seeing
your development when we have our very own performing arts and cultural festival at the end
of term 3.
Collaboration is a frequently used word in the workforce today.
In trying to keep it simple, collaboration to us is when you join together and work with other
people to provide something that could not be offered otherwise.
Planning collaboratively could involve a group of teachers meeting and contributing a whole lot
of thoughts together, that would probably not be achieved if someone was planning on their
own. Teaching collaboratively would mean teachers coming together to provide something more
for the students, that could not be achieved before.
TIME OUT OF SCHOOL
As a Board of Trustees and school we are asked at times
what our stance is on students taking time out of school for tuition. This question has also
come up at the Hibiscus Coast Principals meeting. We have consulted with the Ministry of Education
and attached are our thoughts and legal obligations. View further information.
Mid year reports will be coming home on the last day of term. These reports will have the national
standards information. This is a judgement made by teachers from multiple sources of evidence,
over time. Although this piece of information is important and it gives you an idea of where
your child may be according to a standard, looking at progress, attitude and effort is key
to moving any standard forward. We also believe that looking at the values section is essential,
as being a great person is the most important thing of all.
Term 2 finishes at 3.00pm on Friday 7 July 2017.
Term 3 commences on Monday 24 July 2017 and finishes Friday 29 September.
For other important school calendar dates view our upcoming events on our website.
Have a great week everyone!

WALKING SCHOOL BUSES
We have three walking school buses operating around our school. They
are free to join and open to any of our students. It’s a great safe way to learn road safety, get some exercise,
and it also helps cut down congestion and pollution in our local area.
Manly bus goes from the corner of Brixton and Rawhiti Rd 8.30am daily, Plaza bus leaves from outside Westpac 8.20am
Mon, Tues, Thurs; Moreton Drive bus leaves from the bottom of Moreton Drive 8.20am Fridays only at this stage.

DO YOU HAVE A CHILD STARTING SCHOOL?
We have quite a few siblings of current students listed
to start school in term 3 & 4 this year. It would be a great help to us for confirming staffing for the

the office to pick up an enrolment pack.
