Community Notices

Dear Parents and Students,

Wahoo !! Thank you everyone for a huge commitment to our school gala. We ended up raising about $35,000 which is massive and means, with other funds raised, that we can start the building of our playground within 2 weeks. That is an outstanding result and achievement by our community.

Thank you PFA for your organisation and management. You went above and beyond with your time and effort to make this event a huge success. We hope you feel a great deal of satisfaction when you see children enjoying the playground shortly.

Thanks also to our class reps, parents, children and especially our staff - you all got right behind the cause to help it be such a great community event. Our school is in such great heart with all of you fantastic people helping us achieve our goals.

It has been a big week and on Tuesday our children did us all proud running, biking and swimming their little hearts out. Congratulations to all who gave this event a go. Thanks parents for coming along and supporting our children. The support for each other and helping of children to ensure they finished was awesome. Thanks to our year 6 buddies who took on their leadership responsibilities so capably and helped our 5 and 6 year olds.

The first placegetters of each event will be presented their certificates at assembly this Friday. Other placegetters will receive their certificates at either class or team meeting time. Thank you to Whangaparaoa Fruitworld for supplying us with apples on the day for our students.

Our teaching staff would like to say a huge thank you for helping out where possible on Wednesday, while they attended a paid union meeting. Our teachers do not enjoy attending such meetings in our childrens learning time. Having said that, they would also like to be valued and remunerated for the extremely complex and demanding job they have.

Due to children demand, we are going to have one last week of water battles for the term. Next week Year 5 and 6 students can bring their guns and water bottles to school on Tuesday, Year 3 and 4 on Wednesday and Year 1 and 2 on Thursday. Just a reminder that water balloons are not allowed.

On Tuesday, April 10 we are going to host 2 community meetings to share with you how we will be reporting to parents this year. Reporting will no longer be written reports in July and December. We are moving to a more timely manner of reporting. Linc-ed will be the tool that we use to share students learning achievement and next steps. If you would like to know more about this and how it will look for your child, please come and join us at either 9am or 7pm.

Please note, school is closed on April 3 for Easter Tuesday. This is customary for schools.

Tomorrow Friday 23 March is our next schoolwide assembly at 2.30pm in the hall.

Any Year 6 girls keen to give netball a go this year? We are about to finalise teams for the year 6 grade and there are a couple of spots left! If you are interested in playing this season please email Bianca ASAP -
