WELL DONE TO OUR STUDENTS WHO ENTERED THE TRYATHLON

Congratulations on completing the Hibiscus Coast Sanitarium Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon! Well done, we hope you had fun with the 2,400 Kiwi kids who took part there.

Whangaparaoa School - Won 15 x FREE entries into the 2017/18 Weet-Bix Kids Triathlon Series!!!

Thank you to Leonie Frogley from Whangaparaoa School for organising the largest school group with 83 students! Leonie wins a Watties prize pack.

Also a big Thank You to all those families who helped on the food tent at the Tryathlon on Sunday. Their efforts raised just on $2,300 for the school! That was a lot of bacon & egg rolls & sausages to sizzle! A special mention to Leonie Frogley for coordinating and a huge thanks to Mardie Wilson, Helena Humphries, Sam Munnings, Donna Nicholson and Warren Frogley for the big effort in organising the food, money and equipment.

My Tryathlon

On Sunday I drove to the weet-bix tryathlon.

In the tryathlon we have to swim then bike then run.

The 8 year old’s have yellow caps and yellow stickers, when it was the 8 year old’s turn we all bunched up in a big huddle, soon I saw my friends Kris and Isaac and Kruze, we took a photo together. Then a helper came and she put us in a group I was in the second group. After, we got split up into tinier groups.

Soon it was my turn to get into the the water, we ran into the water. I dived into the water and swam and ran in the water. When I got out of the water I sprinted to get my bike. I took off my rash shirt and grabbed my weet-bix shirt and put it on. I popped my shoes on and got my helmet and walked my bike to the hop on sign. I hopped on and cycled as fast as I could, I passed some people as I biked around the corner and then I sped as fast as I could. Soon I came to a slow down sign, everyone put their brakes on. I nearly fell of my bike. Soon I was speeding down the road. I did a 180 spin and headed back to the bike entry and walked my bike to my transition box. I put my bike on the stand and took my helmet off. I jogged to the exit and ran around the circle. Soon came the finish, I sprinted to the finish past everyone. 1 minute later Eliza Mccartney put my medal around my neck and Duke, Charley, Kruze and I took a photo.

My mum and dad came to me, then me and Kruze took a photo of us biting our medal. Soon it was time to do prize giving… Our school got 15 free entries to the weet-bix tryathlon! THE END
