KEEPING OURSELVES SAFE PROGRAMME

Over the next few weeks we will be teaching the units ‘Knowing what to do” and “Getting Help” in your child’s class. These units are part of the personal safety programmes of Keeping Ourselves Safe connected to our Health curriculum.

The Keeping Ourselves Safe programme enables children and young people to learn and apply a range of safety skills that they can use when interacting with others. Students recognise the differences between healthy and unhealthy relationships, and those who have been or are being abused are encouraged to seek help.

Parents/Caregivers should have received a letter via email outlining what is covered in the programme.

You can also find a copy HERE.

E-SAFETY TIPS FOR YOUR HOME

With the introduction of devices into the school we are very aware of keeping our students safe from accessing inappropriate material. To prevent this we have very strong internet filters operating at school. However, these filters only work while children are connected to the school network (internet) during school time. They do not extend to home networks /internet.

To help your child be CyberSmart on your home network (internet) read our tips HERE.
